Regarding The (ex) Olive Branch... Just a little adjustment to the ownership details. This went from a Tenancy in 1987 to a Ind Coope Friary Meux Managed house. The Ind Coope brand belonged to Allied Domecq. They changed their name to Ind Coope Retail then Six Continents Retail until circa 2000 when Bass and Punch Taverns bought 'all' of Allied Domecq's (circa 1500) Public Houses between them. The Olive Branch became wholly owned by Bass Leisure. In 1997 The Olive Branch changed to A 'Firkin' brand - The whole reason behind this was simply to allow 'capital expenditure for refurbishment'. It was run by the same licencee from 1987 to it's closure (under The Olive Branch' name) in 1997. ;D Due to 'beer orders' regulations the Firkin brand could no longer both brew and sell it's own beer once ownership changed to Bass Leisure and subsequently all the Firkin brewers were made redundant.
