Premier Nightclubs Ltd has submitted a planning application for a new nightclub (700 capacity) at 19-23 Lower Bridge Street, planned to be open til 3am. The applicants claim it will be 'a high class operation well above the existing competitors in the city, namely The Bizz/Works, Chicago Rock Cafe and Studio 41'. Thank god. yeah read about that a few months ago. Heard they didnt turn up for the first meeting arranged for some reason. As much as we really do need another nightclub in Canterbury i cant see the council been as fussy as they are allowing one to be placed at the front of a hotel and with housing alongside. Plus residents will probably argue they have two nightclubs within 50 yards of them and do want another. Hopefully they wont say this but kinda guessing they will! good luck to premier nightclubs though worth a shot! very detailed planning report as well!

When looking up the application you can see the associated documentation...
Interesting to see the planning process at work!

I recall reading in either last weeks kentish gazette or previous weeks thats as kinda expected the planning applictation was rejected by the council. the excuse again was we have too many late night venues in the city. I must be missing most of these venues!

In Adscene that came through my letter box they said the same thing.
But it looks likely there'll be an appeal, so the story is not over yet!
